Innovation for Automation is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Machine Builder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience in custom industrial equipment assembly, and the ability to work with precision instruments. The Senior Machine Builder will be responsible for assembling machines, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring the successful completion of complex assemblies. This position requires a high level of expertise in machine assembly, including the ability to interpret drawings, devise assembly plans, and manage time efficiently.
Our Machine Builders Typically:
  • Have Strong Abilities to complete tasks according to machine blueprints without direct supervision.
  • Custom fits parts and maintains required tolerances.
  • Installs conduit and completes wiring of machines.
  • Lays out and completes installation of pneumatic/hydraulic components.
  • Understands assembly procedures.
  • Performs skilled fitting and assembly of machined and/or purchased components.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints.
  • Robotic welding experience.
  • Ability to devise a plan for the build of complex assemblies.
  • Assemble machines using visual representations from 2D drawings and 3D computer software.
  • Utilize computer software for measurements and assembly information.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, controls, Program Management, and Engineering professionals.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machines during installation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical issues.
  • Effective time management and multitasking across multiple projects.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to document changes and problems.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years building custom industrial equipment or machines.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess required tools.
  • Knowledge of controls, pneumatic, and hydraulic assembly preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds properly.
  • Can pass a Background Check and Drug Screening.
